TRAINSCAPES. [archives of 2015]

It started as something I called ‘the district line project’.

Back in 2015, I was still getting used to the chaos that we now call London life. From a minimum of ~2 hours on a good day to a maximum [is there a maximum?] of absolute mind-blowing ~4 hours on local trains on a bad day...

Between 3 essential points of the cycle -  home/work/studio - it was safe to say I can call myself a nomad.

Sometimes it felt like the only ‘life’ you see is through the train window, which seemed to be in constant motion. It felt like looking at a never ending sequence of a film, perhaps my life’s film, perhaps yours as well.

I used to count all the train stops... 26, 29, 32?! most of them in the dark tunnels of the underground, yet still, the number doubles at the end of the day.

And so I continued to daydream while swaying in motion, listening to the harsh noises and echoes of the train in friction with the very tight air spaces it travels through to take people to places.
The TRAINSCAPES are my captured moments of those daydreams. 756 dreams to be exact.
